Welcome to The Academy of Young Scholars
You are invited to contact our office and schedule an appointment to visit The Academy of Young Scholars in Rock Hill. During your visit we will give you a tour to introduce our facility, programs, staff and policies to you. The tour is a chance for you as prospective parents or guardians to ask questions, tell us about your child, and share any information you think would help us provide the best care for your scholar.
Once you decide that The Academy of Young Scholars is the right place for your child, upon receipt of your registration fee, copies of our parent handbook, policies and registration forms will be given to you. Thank you for considering our private preschool in Rock Hill.
The Academy of Young Scholars has high expectations for each child enrolled in the program. A child’s genetic potential needs support from the environment, experiences, and stimulation to help intelligence develop. From 6 weeks to 5 years old, our educators or development specialist, focus on intentional teaching to ensure that each child’s specific needs are being met.
Our customized curriculum includes a curriculum that we develop and is based on the South Carolina Early Learning Standards in preparation for Kindergarten. We desire to encourage a lifelong love for learning in your child. We have incorporated whole language, open-ended discussion, interactive activities, projects, and experiences in everyday learning. We challenge each student up to and a little beyond their comfort level as they are ready.
We are an outdoor program and our premise is anything we can do inside, we can do outside.
We do EVERYTHING outside! Circle time, art, playdough, dress up, blocks, and our favorite - reading. Our children enjoy running, jumping, hopping, and skipping. Intertwining active play with intentional teaching, has proven to be the key to academic success. Our first scholars are continuing to thrive in elementary school in advanced reading and math classrooms. Being outside allows the children to be more creative, think cognitively, and take risk. Come see what it really means to learn through play.
How did we celebrate Earth Day at The Academy of Young Scholars? Let me count the ways ... 1, 2, 3, FUN! Maddox listened and followed directions, estimated and measured dirt, counted seeds, determined volume, and is now waiting for his plants to grow. The toddlers ended up looking more like the earth with markers all over them, than the earth itself (no worries - we use washable markers). Call today for a tour and check on the status of the plants while you are here.
